God wants us to give Him our heart
Proverbs 23:26 states: "My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways."
Few other appeals in scripture are more precious to us than these as believers. God must have our heart in order to have us. "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness." Romans 10:10.
Again and again we see the emphasis placed on the heart by writers of God's word. "As he thinketh in his heart, so is he." Proverbs 23:7. And: "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Proverbs 4:23.
Jesus himself said: "A good man out of the good treasures of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart, bringeth forth that which is evil." Luke 6:45.
Yes, God wants our heart, and wants us to give to Him. "Give me thine heart" the Savior pleads. When we respond, then we will be able to believe unto righteousness and those around us will be aware that we have been with Jesus.
A short prayer for today: "Lord, help me to give you my whole heart so I can live, and walk and be more like you each day as I wait for your return."
Hallelujah! Thank you Lord!
Amen
