God has the Answer

Psalms 91:14,15 states: "Because he hath set His love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him."

Think of it! Jesus offers to His children anything they may ask in His name. Notice the significant "He shall call upon Me, and I will answer." Unlike the many ways in which we can fool men, we cannot fool God into thinking we love Him when we do not.

Jesus said "He who loves me keeps my commandments." Its an easy litmus test, and God only answers prayers when we love Him above this world and when our will is entirely centered on Him.

If we are living the way the world is living, we should not expect that God would do anything for us as He remains true to His word. The Psalmist said: "If I regard iniquity in my heart the Lord will not hear me."

Many people want to keep one foot in the church and one foot in the world. They pick what suits them from what they see in the world, and pick what suits them from the word of God. Forgetting that the scriptures state: "Friendship with the world is enmity with God." and "Come ye out from among them and be ye separate" - meaning - cease from living the way the world lives.

The scriptures says: "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Galatians 6:7.

We cannot "play the field" and win where God is concerned. We cannot tuck sins away quietly in the furthest compartments of our lives and then raise our hands to God - He will not hear us.

Too often we blame God or others for our circumstances but never ourselves. To obtain salvation we are told to "save yourselves from this untoward generation" - Acts 2:38 - meaning - there are conscious decisions we must individually make to be saved from sin and saved from path the world is on today.

We won't be able to point at someone or something else and say "that's the reason I failed to live a life that was pleasing to You Lord" - it won't be sufficient to save us from being condemned to hell for eternity.

Jesus still saves to the utmost - meaning - it does not matter what our circumstances have been, what sins we have committed, or what failures we have encountered, Jesus saves us all. This is the wonder of salvation, that God sent His Son to pay the ultimate price for our sins - He died so that we could live for eternity with Him.

A brief prayer: "Father, help me to live above the world and above sin. To stand on Your word even if it means standing alone, to be led by Your Spirit when all forsake me, and to walk according to the commandments You have given to prove my love for You.

Thank you Father,

Amen."
